Pandey reviews functioning of PDD

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Principal Secretary, Power Development Department (PDD) Sudhanshu Pandey today chaired a high level meeting of officers of PDD convened to review the functioning of the department here.
Principal Secretary took stock of the pace of Centrally Sponsored Schemes launched to streamline and augment the transmission and distribution system in the state.  He said R-APDRP is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented for automation and remodelling of power distribution network to reduce AT&C loses provision of improved services to the consumers.
Mr. Pandey also took stock of various projects being executed under power sector which included construction of State-of-the-art Data Centre at PDD complex Bemina, Srinagar and Data Recovery Centre at PDD Complex Gladni, Jammu which are being executed by the JKPCC, installation of hardware by M/s WIPRO Infotech Limited at GIS and progress of SCAAA in Jammu and Srinagar.
The Principal Secretary reviewed the progress of ring fencing and boundary meters and stressed for early completion of energy auditing. He said about 4.77 lakh consumers of 30 towns including consumers of twin capital cities would get benefitted with the completion of this programme.
Among others, Development Commissioner, Power Manzoor Ahmad Salroo, Chief Engineer, EM& RE Wing Jammu Shahnaz Goni, Chief Engineer, EM& RE Wing  Kashmir Muzaffar Mattu, CEO, R-APDRP-IT, Superintendent Engineers, Executive Engineers, Deputy General Manager, JKPCC, besides representatives from WIPRO and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited present in the meeting.
