JAMMU: Minster for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today said the Center will provide subsidized ration only to the Adhaar seeded ration cards and stressed on officers to speed up the Aadhar seeding process.
The Minister was chairing a high-level meeting of officers to review the status of ration card seeding with Aadhar and various other works under FCS&CA department.
Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Service & Sports, Imran Raza Ansari, Chief Secretary, B R Sharma, Secretary Food Supplies, Director Food Supplies, ADCs and ACRs form all the district of Jammu division, besides various other administrative officers were also present in meeting.
The meeting was informed that 8,857,008 Aadhaar cards have been generated with 37 per cent of the ration cards successfully seeded with Aadhaar. It was further informed that 302 Aadhaar Centers have been established and 604 data generating machines have been installed at various places across J&K to facilitate the enrollment process.
The Minister directed the concerned to collect photographs, Aadhaar and bank details form consumers at ration depots to pace up the transition to cashless transactions.
The Minister also sought details regarding the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and directed for the early compilation of data. The Minister further stressed for proper functioning of Village Level Committees for monitoring food supply to depots and directed for updating the data of the committees on department’s websites.
