NEW DELHI, Feb 4: Rice basmati prices rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on pick up in demand against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing regions.
However, other grains held steady in thin trade.
Traders said besides upsurge in demand, tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing regions mainly led to the rise in rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety settled higher at Rs 7,100-7,300 and Rs 5,800-7,200 from previous levels of Rs 7,000-7,200 and Rs 5,700-7,000 per quintal, respectively.
