POONCH, Feb 4: A clerk working in District Fund Office at Poonch was placed under suspension for allegedly demanding 25 % commission from the complainant for the release of GP Fund amount of his deceased father.
Official sources said that one Ghulam Rasool Ganai, resident of Poonch, working as instructor in the J&K Handicrafts Department died in November 2012. The family members of the deceased employee applied for the release of GP Fund amount of Late Ganai. His son was following the case since January 2013 in the GP Fund office at Poonch.
He was being victimized and harassed on various pretexts by some staff members there for the last several years. The family was denied amount for several years. One Mohd Rashid (clerk /compiler), demanded 25 % commission of the amount and assured to settle the case after discussing with District Fund officer and release the amount. The family was shocked over the behavior and demand of the Fund Office staff member.
Late Ganai’s family appeared before DC Poonch, M H Malik today and reported the whole matter to him. They also filed a written complaint in this connection. The DC placed Fund Office compiler, Mohd Rashid under suspension and ordered inquiry into the matter. He directed Treasury Officer Poonch to hold probe and fix responsibility on the officials responsible for the delay and non-release of funds to the family of deceased Govt employee. The TO was asked to submit detailed report within 14 days.
