JAMMU, Feb 5: The mortal remains of veteran RSS leader and social activist Mulkh Raj Pargal who breathed his last yesterday at the age of 94 after a brief illness were consigned to flames at Channi Himmat Cremation Ground today.
People from all walks of life joined his funeral procession and paid tearful adieu to this great selfless social activist who remained associated with Sangh for over seven decades.
He was also a close associate of Late Jana Sangh presidents, Deendayal Upadayay and Prem Nath Dogra. Pargal remained actively associated with Praja Parishad and Jana Sangh movement in the State which struggled for total integration of J&K with country.
Union Minster of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh has expressed his profound shock and grief over the demise of veteran leader. In his condolence message he termed Pargal a great stalwart and a dedicated soldier of Sangh.
Speaker State Assembly, Kavidner Gupta, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, RSS Sangchalak, Brig (retd) Suchet Singh, senior BJP leader and MLC , Ashok Khajuria, MLA Rajesh Gupta, Charanjit Singh Khalsa MLC BJP generals ecretary (Org) Ashok Kaul and many other political and social activists attended his cremation. They said in his demise the nation has lost one of the patriotic soldiers.
Pargal was also heading Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Trust as its chairman and he resigned from the post in 2015 owing to his old age.
