SRINAGAR, Feb 6: Despite heavy snowfall for the past few days, eight guests from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while 10 Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) in the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.
Meanwhile, 11 people also returned to their respective sides, official sources said. They said eight PoK residents, including two women and a child, arrived at Kaman Post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge, on foot to meet their relatives, separated in 1947.
Two Kashmiris, who had gone to PoK, also returned to their homes after completing stay across the LoC.
Sources said the number of PoK guests goes down during the winter when the temperature goes below freezing temperature. They said 10 Kashmiris, including four women and two children, crossed over to other side.
Meanwhile, nine PoK residents, including four women and as many children, returned to their homes after completing their stay here. The bus service continued its run despite unrest in Kashmir last year and tension on the LoC due to ceasefire violation.
