Srinagar, Feb 6: In the aftermath of heavy snowfall and dipping mercury, army today said it distributed warm clothes to under privileged kids and students of Army Goodwill Public School in Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A defence spokesman said army in Hajin reached out to the under privileged kids of Kanyari village as well as the students of AGS and distributed warm clothes to them. “Warm clothes also brought warm smiles on the faces of these children,” he said.
Meanwhile, Army in Behibagh village of Kulgam district conducted a workshop to train local sumo owners about the importance of safe driving and precautions to be taken in such inclement weather.
“Drivers were taught about iron chains, fitted to the wheels of vehicles to provide maximum traction while driving through snow and ice. The efforts taken by Army to teach them about safe driving will certainly a benefit them in this hilly terrain and keep their passengers and vehicle safe,” the defence spokesman added.
