JAMMU, Feb 9: Led by BJP Mahila Morcha State president Purnima Sharma, Morcha leaders visited Gynaecology OPD of SMGS Hospital, Shalimar Road, here today and interacted with the pregnant women who were there for their medical check up. They also interacted with the doctors and paramedical staff on duty.
Purnima Sharma and other women leaders enquired from the pregnant women whether they were aware of the newly launched schemes “Jnani Shishu Suraksha Yojana” and “Matritav Suraksha Abhiyan” for their benefit under which every such woman is provided financial aid of Rs six thousand, the facility of free check up, free immunization in government & private hospitals, besides holding exclusive check up for pregnant women on 9th of every month.
Purnima , while explaining the two important schemes to them, said that the Narendra Modi led NDA Government is deeply concerned towards the deaths of women in pregnancy which may be due to malnutrition, poor financial condition of the family etc. and is providing Rs 6000 to each pregnant women so that she can arrange proper diet for herself and do not suffer any loss during pregnancy.
Purnima told them that the only requirement is to get registered with the hospital and then from day first to the day of delivery, there will be free check up and medical advice. She stressed upon the hospital administration to ensure that the schemes launched for the pregnant women are implemented in letter and spirit.
Purnima accompanied by Morcha State general secretary, Sanjita Dogra, secretaries Shailja Gupta, Neena Gupta, office secretary Sushma Gupta, district general secretary, Sangeeta Anand, district secretaries Geetanjali Gupta and Pooja Chauhan, Mandal president, Rekha Chouhan, Mandal general secretary, Prerna Nanda, Ward president Vanita Arora and Ward general secretary Anita Gupta.
