KATHUA, Feb 9: A woman was murdered in Bobiya area, under Hiranagar Police jurisdiction today.
The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Raj Kumari, wife of Girdhari Lal, resident of Jangi Chak. She was found in seriously injured condition and unconscious with head injury on back side of the head in the bushes at village Kunthal this afternoon. The police rushed her to Hiranagar Sub Divisional Hospital as unidentified victim, where doctors referred her to GMC Hospital, Jammu after some first- aid. She was declared as brought dead there.
The family members after coming to know about the matter also reached GMC Hospital, Jammu. They brought back the dead body to Hiranagar for postmortem but BMO Hiranagar said that no doctor was available and tomorrow is holiday, the postmortem of the body will be conducted on February 11. Upon this, the family members of the deceased woman and Police men got agitated. After heated arguments with the BMO, they shifted the body to District Hospital, Kathua where doctors conducted post-mortem at 6 pm and handed over the body to the family for last rights of the victim.
The Police has registered a case FIR No 17/ 2017 at Hiranagar Police Station under section 302 RPC in this connection. The victim was working as Class- IV worker in Govt Middle School, Spalma.
