JAMMU, Feb 14: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today slammed the Government for not implementing recommendations of State Vigilance Commission and showing poor response to the High Court direction on multi-crore pipe scam in PHE Department.
In a statement Vakil said Governments delay in implementing 771 recommendations of State Vigilance Commission even after the meeting of CVC with the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Governor NN Vohra shows Government’s non seriousness on crusade against corruption.
Calling upon the Government to seek and immediate clarification from the Government on the implementation the recommendations of State Vigilance Commission Vakil said Governor should also seek clarification from the Government on showing casual approach to a recent direction of the J&K High Court on multi-crore pipes scam in PHE Department and the fate of the recommendations of other investigative agencies including SAC into the involvement of some former minister.
He said Government is sitting over the recommendations of some premiere investigative agencies on financial irregularities in purchase of pipes in PHE Department, supply of sub standard drugs in health department, back door appointments in Urban Local Bodies department in both Kashmir and Jammu division as well as backdoor appointments in health department in Kashmir Division.
Vakil also expressed concern over the appointment of senior official as Municipality Commissioner. He said that Government has thrown all service rules to the wind for fulfillment of their vested interests. He lambasted the opposition NC who has been silent on this issue and this shows that the ruling party and the opposition have some secret pact to safe guard each others mis-deeds. Vakil demanded immediate intervention of the Governor on this issue so that the rank and file in the administrative setup did not get demoralized as everything is been done at the cost of careers of KAS officers.
