RAJOURI, Feb 16: The people from Jawahar Nagar area of the town today held protest demonstration and blocked Rajouri-Kalakote road for about an hour.
The people of the area came out on the road this afternoon and started protest dharna at main bazaar Jawahar Nagar. They alleged that transformer installed in the area went out of order three days back but the concerned PDD authorities have failed to replace the same. Even there are unscheduled power cuts in the town and the local PDD officials are least bothered about the public sufferings. Rget raised loud slogans against PDD authorities during protest.
Later, DySP Headquarters, Hamid Choudhary and SHO, Rajouri Ajay Singh Chib reached the spot and they pacified the agitating people. They also talked to Executive Engineer, PDD Rajouri and on his assurance, the people then lifted dharna. A long traffic jam was created in the area.
