KATHUA, Feb 26: One day seminar was held here today under the banner of “Jammu Kashmir Forum to Maintain Peace and Integrity of State”.
The seminar was presided over by president of the Forum, I D Khajuria, alongwith Sheikh Abdul Rehman, (ex MP and patron of the Forum), Prof Zahoor-Ud-Din (chief advisor) and Adv J A Kazmi (general secretary of the Forum).
While addressing the gathering in the seminar hall, I D Khajuria expressed views on the agenda and said that the Jammu Kashmir conflict is escalating tensions internally in India as well as Pakistan and externally on sub-continent borders. “Both the nations should uphold the present realities of interdependence of nations and truth of conflict between the both to resolve Jammu Kashmir problem through dialogues and not implementing mechanism of militaries options,” he added.
Other speakers also stressed that the wars do not resolve any issue in the present day world. “Let us also resolve that if Kashmir is the cause of tension in the region, All the concerned should shun war and confrontational path and carry forward on the path of dialogue involving all stake holders of Jammu Kashmir,” they opined and appealed to both the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan to firstly take immediate steps to defuse the situation on their borders and secondly, move in the direction to start a dialogue, trilaterally to be decided mutually, for the peaceful resolution of Jammu-Kashmir problem, which has been haunting both the countries since partition.
The seminar resolved that both Indian and Pakistan should sign a no-war pact between them and abandon pre-conceived notions on Kashmir for a peaceful and permanent solution of J&K. The Forum also demanded revocation of AFSPA and release of all arrested leaders and youths to create conducive environment
