Parliament Resolution

Sir,
This has reference to the Parliament Resolution on Jammu and Kashmir which was adopted on Feb 22, 1994. It was not a resolution but a national resolve of a committed nation.
As for the State of Jammu & Kashmir, the resolution said: “The state of Jammu & Kashmir has been, is and shall be an integral part of India and any attempts to separate it from the rest of the country will be resisted by all necessary means” and that “India has the will and capacity to firmly counter all designs against its unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity”.
The resolution, which was adopted on behalf of the outraged, angry and concerned Indian nation, not only reiterated that Jammu & Kashmir was an integral part of India and it shall remain so forever, but also asked Pakistan to “vacate the areas of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir, which they have occupied through aggression” and warned Pakistan in unambiguous language that “all attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of India will be met resolutely,” and that “Pakistan’s anti-India campaign of calumny and falsehood” was utterly “unacceptable and deplorable”.
Present Government has taken many steps in this direction but much more needs to be done to make this commitment a  reality.
Yours etc….
