JAMMU, Mar 3: In an anti- encroachment drive, a team of Forest Department headed by Surinder Nath, Range Officer Kalidhar alongwith other field staff has today removed the encroachment from Compartment No. 37/K of Panjgrain block at village Dhanna in Akhnoor and retrieved 4 Kanal 8 Marlas of Forest land.
The land had been encroached upon by one Pawan Kumar, son of Biji Ram, resident of Dhanna in Tehsil Akhnoor. The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of DFO Jammu, Dr AD Singh.
The DFO stated that the Forest team which proceeded to the spot located at village Dhanna in Compartment No. 37/K for removal of encroachment, faced stiff resistance however, could able to retrieve the Forest land by dismantling under construction structure. The operation was supervised by Naveen Shah, Conservator of Forests, East Circle, Jammu.
