JAMMU: Chairman J&K Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today said that the government is keen to develop sports infrastructure in the state and that every step will be taken to increase sports activities in the state.
He said this while interacting with the J&K Taekwondo Team that clichéd the fourth place in the overall ranking during the recently concluded Senior National Taekwondo Championship.
Haji Anayat Ali appreciated the players for their performance and assured all possible help for their future. He said Taekwondo is one of the popular games in Kargil district and he feels proud that Kargil has produced some of the best taekwondo players in J&K.
He congratulated Tashi Tundup of Kargil for getting Silver and Bronze medal and thanked Master Atul Pangotra for giving special attention to the players of Kargil district.
The team was led by International Player, Refree and Senior Technical Officer of Taekwondo Federation of India and State awardee Atul Pangotra.
Atul Pangotra informed Haji Anayat Ali that players from J&K performed their best for getting this overall trophy and urged upon the chairman to functionalize all the District Sports Council to give an overall development to the players.
Coach for National Taekwondo championship Zaheer Abbas from Kargil urged upon Haji Anayat Ali that the member from Kargil for Sports Council should be from Kargil only so that players of Kargil can be benefited.
Haji Anayat Ali assured for taking the matter with the minster for Youth Services and Sports soon.
