The preacher

Sunil R P Sethi
He came from the fairyland. Land of thousand tales. He was groomed in Sufism since his childhood and had served his master well on the path of Almighty . All different cults were working under a common council which decided to spread religion in areas where people were living with non monotheistic religious thoughts.  He found  the very idea of anybody equal to Almighty or many Gods very absurd. While on duty, he was supposed to  spread real religion based on monotheism in the land which was known in his country as Heaven on Earth . He had made name for himself in religious thoughts and also in alchemy which was his second love.
Bab Sahib , his master selected him for the honour to travel to Land of Heaven for spreading word of God and asked him what he needed to be taken along.  He took one day and then informed Bab Sahib that he would prefer to go alone with only two bottles of his potions . One containing a poison and other its antidote .
It took him six months to reach Land of Heaven on his mule named Bulbul . When he entered valley he saw people happy and prosperity all around. There was little chance of his success.  King was a devoted person who had one son and one daughter and also his younger brother who was of the age of his son whom he loved very much . He started spreading message of love of God which was taken well and in less time he was taken as Rishi . But he was careful not to propagate monotheism.  Getting access to royal court was comparatively easy . King also found in him a learned person and worldly wise.
He tried to take King in his stride by narrating to him concepts of monotheism and the righteousness in belief in one God but the King was given to religion of his forefathers and his people and didn’t agree . He displayed his powers to foretell future and King impressed his brother and children to know about their future . This was time he was waiting for . A very small needle was dipped in the poison. One was concentrate which could take effect in one day, second was diluted to have effect in two days and third was more diluted to have effect in four days. Antidote was  only with him . No other solution or medicine would have worked . It took him little efforts to put painless prick with needle on the hands of three youngsters. Then he predicted that son will die in one day while daughter will die in two days and lastly brother will die in four days. King was shocked and angry as there was no reason for him to believe in such a non sense . Rishi was put to jail immediately . He smiled and waited for his plan to work as it couldn’t fail .
Sure enough, son of the King  died first, exactly one day after prediction . The King was devastated but refused to believe Rishi still . It could have been mere coincidence.  But in heart of hearts  he feared for second day prediction and called his Kulguru to have special Yagna for peace and health of his daughter . Yagna failed as it was to. Daughter of the  King died on the time predicted for cause unknown . The King was suddenly shaken to realize the crime he had committed in arresting Rishi and not listening to him.  He even didn’t ask Rishi if there was a way out , in his fit for rage. His faith in Kul Guru , his Yagna and even his God had shaken .
Rishi was called from prison and provided seat equal to the throne of the King , much higher than Prime Minister and even Kulguru . The  King begged him for pardon and asked him forgiveness which Rishi happily did. On being asked solution to the problem, he played his cards cautiously by telling king that God is annoyed with him of making many idols parallel to Him and that He wanted king to adopt  new religion which had come from the desert. The  King was perplexed and so was whole Darbar . The King was in no position to lose his brother too , final future of the Kingdom after him . He offered Rishi that if his brother is saved he will adopt  new religion and so will his people.
Mission was accomplished.  Death of two innocents was burden on his conscience but that was for larger benefit and in any case it was better than fighting war for spreading religion . And in  this way he  became the most important person in the kingdom .  He got his name carved on the pages of history. There will be shrine in his name and he will be responsible for changing course of human history in the region and serving his master and his religion.  Bab Sahib would be proud of him as he was on himself. His place is secured in Jannat.
With the  King adopting  new religion alongwith his family and important persons of Kingdom it was easy to spread his service. Free Langar services were started for persons adopting to new religion . Jobs and land grants were secured for them . With royal patronage the sailing was smooth for new religion and for him getting place in history.
