JAMMU, Mar 16: A delegation of All J&K Plus-2 Lecturers’ Forum called on Minister for Education Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari and apprised him of various problems and issues pertaining to Plus-2 community.
The delegation, led by Deepak Sharma, working president of the Forum, appealed the minister for his intervention in addressing all the genuine demands with main focus on sanctioning of Running Grade Pattern, without which a worst type of stagnation has been caused amongst the members of Plus-2 cadre and the Lecturers have to wait for at least 20 years to get further elevation in next grade as Principal.
The other major focus was given on regularization of all Incharge incumbents, which is pending for years together and has caused unrest amongst the members of the cadre.
Forum also demanded immediate promotion of Lecturers to Sr  Lecturers, Sr  Lecturers to Principals, CEOs and Jt  Directors and equivalents on fast track basis as large number of posts are lying vacant which affects the smooth functioning of the School Education Department and achievement of overall academic excellence.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that all genuine demands of the Plus-2 community will be addressed.
As the minister explained that in view of by-Parliamentary election at Srinagar and Anantnag constituencies and enforcement of Model Code of Conduct, he would not be able to attend the annual Lecturer Day on 09-04-2017, the Forum decided to postpone the event accordingly.
The delegation comprised of N S Jamwal, Anil Sharma, Dr Sushma, R S Slathia, Sanjay Bhagat, Pardeep Singh, Narinder Sharma, K P   Saini and others.
