JAMMU, Mar 20: A delegation of SOS International – An Organization for PoK DPs, today called upon Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal and discussed the issue of DPs with regard to PM package.
The delegation led by SOS Intl chairman, Rajiv Chuni and accompanied by other members, Prof JS Mangal, Prof MM Sharma, Babu Kewal Ram, Roshan Lal, VK Datta, Subash Sharma, Vijay Guru, Romesh Bali, Sharda Devi, Tilak Raj Sethi and Sanjay Kohli during meeting apprised the Divisional Commissioner of the difficulties being faced by the PoK Displaced Persons while preparing the documents for filing their claims.
Dr Kotwal solved almost all the demands on spot and assured the delegation that his office will communicate the decisions taken in today’s meeting to all the concerned officers so that disbursement of claims to DPs could be expedited.
The issues related to PoK DPs on which Divisional Commissioner, Jammu gave his consent includes Form A, Legal heir, adoption deed etc. He said in case Form “A” is not available with any Displaced Person then any one of the following document shall be considered as sufficient proof – Cancellation Register or Loan Ledger or Nominal Roll or Allotment of Land under SRO 578 C.
It was also resolved that Legal heir issued by the concerned Tehsildars shall be accepted; Will of the original allottees in favour of daughters/grand-daughters etc shall be considered after proper verification.
Adoption deeds of DPs shall be considered after proper verification and photocopies of documents self attested shall be accepted now onwards earlier it was only certified copies from PRO or DyPRO.
Photocopies of allotment of plot or quarter or copy of ex-gratia amount of Rs 3500 self attested shall be accepted now onwards.
Dr Kotwal also assured that Tehsil-wise camps shall be organized for issuing of PRCs and Aadhar Cards on the spot to PoK DPs who are not having these documents shortly.
