JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Mar 20: Eighty nine new guests arrived from Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK) at Poonch and Uri today.
Official sources said that 76 guests arrived at Poonch via Chakan-da-Bagh cross LoC point today. A total 125 passengers crossed sides at Chakan-da-Bagh LoC point, when the route was opened after a gap of two weeks today.
On last Monday, the Pakistani authorities had not opened the gates in view of the shelling along the border in Poonch sector. 38 PoK guests returned to their homes while 11 Indian passengers left for PoK today. This is the highest number of guests in last one year witnessed at this LoC point in Poonch.
Meanwhile, 13 guests from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here today, while six Kashmiris crossed over to other side of LoC in the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.
18 people also returned through Kaman Post, in Uri sector today.
Official sources said that 13 PoK residents, including three women and as many children, arrived at Kaman Post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge, on foot to meet their relatives.
As many as 12 Kashmiris, who had gone to the PoK, also returned to their homes after completing their stay across the LoC. They included five women and two children. They said six Kashmiris crossed over to the other side. Meanwhile, six PoK residents, including five women, returned to their homes.
