JAMMU, Mar 21: Anti Hijacking Jammu (AHJ) unit of Airport Security of J&K and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted counter terrorist mock drill at Jammu Airport.
The drill was conducted in presence of Airport Director DK Gautam, Commandant CRPF AK Jha, SSP AHJ Rajinder Gupta, Regional Deputy Commissioner of Security, (BCAS) Captain Ashutosh Vashist, Security Officer from IAF, State Fire Services, SOG and District Health Services.
During the drill, the security personnel from IAF were deployed on the airside of the Airport.
Due to the blaring of sirens and movement of the security vehicles, fire brigade and ambulance, there was curiosity and apprehensions amongst the public residing around the airport, who later felt sigh of relief after recognizing that some mock exercise was being conducted.
During the drill, a mock attack by three terrorists was successfully countered by alert security personnel by neutralizing all the terrorists, under guidance of the senior officers of the airport security units.
After the drill, Commandant CRPF AK Jha and SSP AHJ Rajinder Gupta briefed about various steps to counter such threats, whereas overall display of alertness.
