Forensic workshop inaugurated

JAMMU, Mar 22: A three day forensic workshop was inaugurated at Forensic Science Laboratory by FSL Director Jatinder Singh.
The participants from various police agencies and officers from Sub Inspector to Deputy SPs attended the workshop to hone their investigating skills on scientific lines.
The main aim for conducting this workshop is to develop synergy between investigating officers, forensic experts and prosecuting officers so that lacunae and loop holes in the criminal justice delivery are minimized with the result the criminals get convicted and at the same time innocent persons get acquitted on the merit of the case.
Lectures were delivered to the participants to the galaxy of sitting forensic experts of concerned specialty including those of guest faculty. These experts included Rakesh Hangloo, Document expert, Masrat Khurshid, Lie-Detector expert, Pawan Abrol, Chemistry and Toxicology expert, Maqsood Sadiq, Physics expert, R S Jamwal, Ballistics expert, former Forensic experts namely Mool Raj, S L Bhat and Rohit Koul.
The participants exhibited keen interest in the scientific workshop. This Laboratory had conducted such workshops in the past also which resulted in quick disposal of cases. “It is our endeavour to conduct such forensic workshops in future also and we expect that police hierarchy, in their own interest, nominate maximum number of police officers in future”, said the incharge of the Forensic Science Laboratory.
