JAMMU, Mar 22: Public Works Department (R&B) of the State Government has ordered functional and technical amendments in the nomenclature of its engineering cadre and subsequent implementation of the same.
Following the amendment, nomenclature of Chief Engineer in the department has been changed to Director General Works and the post shall now fall under administrative nomenclature.
According to the order in this regard, nomenclature of the Junior Engineers has been changed to Engineer in Charge or Site Incharge while Assistant Engineer has been designated as Assistant Works Commissioner.
Similarly nomenclature of AEE has been changed to Deputy Works Commissioner, Xen to Works Commissioner, SE to Additional Director General Works and Chief Engineer as Director General Works.
Henceforth, the order further says, the cadre shall be amended accordingly.
