JAMMU: Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today said that all development works being executed in the state are being implemented with focused attention on high quality and accountability.
The Speaker said this while addressing a public meet on the sidelines of inauguration of lanes and drains in Ward no 22, Shastri Nagar, Jammu.
Kavinder Gupta, laying special focus on fixing accountability for public spending, said that the money Government spends is public’s money and needs to be safeguarded and judiciously utilized for socio-economic development of the state.
The Speaker while assuring the public of his commitment toward ensuring all basic amenities especially water, electricity and road connectivity to the people, informed the people that in the last two years an elaborate drainage network spanning over 20 km has already been completed in the Gandhi Nagar Constituency, besides works on additional network is under progress.
He said that an amount of Rs 300 crore has been sanctioned for up-gradation of Jammu Railway Station besides the Gandhi Nagar- Bikram Chowk flyover is in the final stages of completion and is expected to open for public use by April 13, this year.
The Speaker also interacted with the residents of the area to take stock of their grievances, concerns. He gave a patient hearing to the problems and demands projected by the people and assured them that all their genuine issues will be taken up over the appropriate channels for early action.
