NEW DELHI, Mar 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today handed over the “Chaadar” for Ajmer Sharif to be offered at the famous Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.
Union Minister of State in PMO with Independent Charge of Northeast Dr Jitendra Singh and Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi were present on the occasion.
Prime Minister also conveyed greetings and best wishes to the followers of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, across the world, on the occasion of his annual Urs.
In a written message, Modi said, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti is a symbol of the great spiritual tradition of India. He said, Gareeb Nawaz’s service to humanity would remain an inspiration for future generations. Modi also offered his best wishes for the successful conduct of the forthcoming Urs.
Meanwhile, the Union Ministry for Minority Affairs today announced the decision to establish “Hunar Hubs” in all the States of the country in order to provide market-opportunity to artisans from minority community and to preserve as well as propagate the heritage of minority community.
Similarly, it was also disclosed that the Ministry for Minority Affairs is planning to set up five world-class educational institutes to provide better education facilities for students belonging to minority communities. The Union Government is working on a strategy to ensure that these institutes get started by 2018. In addition, it has also been proposed that 40% of seats in these institutes will be reserved for girls belonging to minority communities.
For the benefit of minority communities, the Modi Government has already initiated the plan to set up “Gareeb Nawaz Skill Development Centre” and “Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship for Girl Students”.
