25 bovine animals rescued, 2 accused held

UDHAMPUR, Mar 25: Police today foiled two attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 25 animals besides arresting two smugglers.
Acting on reliable information, a police  team from PS Chenani laid a surprise naka  near Chenani Domil National Highway under the supervision of SHO Pardeep Gupta and intercepted two trucks bearing registration No. JK02AK-6741 and JK02BM-8377, which were on way towards Kashmir.
During thorough search, the vehicles were found loaded of 21 bovine animals, which were rescued. Police also seized the vehicle and arrested their drivers, namely Raj Ali son of Manzoor Ali of Sidhra Jammu and Hamid Ali son of Mohd Shareif of Rangpur R S Pura Jammu.
A case FIR No. 33/ 34/2017 under section 188 RpC, 3 PC Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Chenani.
In a similar success, cops from Police Station Udhampur laid a surprise naka near Jakhani and intercepted one Tata Mobile JK02A-8234, which was on way towards Kashmir. The vehicles found loaded with four bovine animals, which were rescued. Police also seized the vehicle while the driver managed to escape.
