SRINAGAR, Oct 15: Around one dozen Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers were admitted at SMHS Hospital here as their condition deteriorated while taking part in the hunger strike that is going on for the past eight days.
In a statement, a spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Converted Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum said that despite the illness the hunger strike was carried on by the rest of the ReT teachers. The spokesman expressed disappointment that nobody from the Government or State administration has turned up to listen to their demands.
The spokesman said that the monthly honorarium for the ReT teachers should be increased adding that it is difficult to live with the meagre honorarium that is being paid at present. He said the State Government should not waste further time and immediately issue regularization orders for converted ReTs and education volunteers.
