Nirvana Academy conducts 10-day music workshop

JAMMU, Mar 29: A 10 day long music workshop was held in Aarohi Kala Sangeet Vidyalaya, Jain Colony Talab Tillo, Jammu by Nirvana Academy a cultural club in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Nirvana Academy has specially conceived these workshops with an aim to create a platform where learned musicians and scholars can interact with the participants thereby enhancing their vision. Kuldeep Kumar a Masters in Music and Music Composer accompanied by Chandani Kaur Dogri folk singer from Nirvana Academy conducted the workshop.
The aim of the workshop was to bring awareness amongst the participants about the basics of light music and basic practices of Dogri regional and folk music. Emphasis was given on voice culture, Swar lagan, Swar shuddhi through Swar sadhna. The participants were also taught Dogri songs, ghazals and poetry. The workshop was attended by a large number of participants of different age groups and members of the Aarohi Kala Sangeet Vidyalaya. Director Aarohi Kuldeep Kumar expressed his gratitude to Nirvana Academy for organizing the music workshop at the Vidyalaya.
Meenakshi Sharma General Secretary Nirvana Academy thanked Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for their kind support and financial assistance for the year 2012-13. A Dogri music programme was also presented by the participants on the closing ceremony.
Those who attended the closing ceremony, included Nishant Vaid Secretary Nirvana Academy, Rehain Prince Singer and Lyricist, Kuldeep Kumar Director Aarohi Kala Sangeet Vidyalaya, Rohit Manhas, Mandeep Singh, Sagar Sharma, Raj Kumar Sandhu, Adesh Goswami, Navmica, Shivansh, Sanjeev Mangotra, Shaveta Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Neha Verma, Rahul Sharma and Chandani Kaur.
