Abdul Haq orders suspension of 3 employees on corruption charges

JAMMU: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq today ordered suspension of three officials posted in the office of BDO Poonch on the alleged charges of corruption. An inquiry has also been ordered to probe the charges against the trio.

The officials against whom the action has been initiated included, Pushkar Raj, Senior Assistant Block Poonch, Javed Ali, Secretary Panchayat Mangnar Block Poonch and Mohammad Azam, GRS Block Poonch. The said officials shall remain attached in the office of ACD Poonch during the period of suspension.

A 3-member committee comprising BDO Loran, BDO Buffliaz, Deputy Director Planning & Monitoring in DC Office Poonch has been appointed will look into the allegations against the erring officials and submitted a report within ten days, the Minister ordered.

Abdul Haq said appropriate action would be taken if the complaints received from the public were found correct. He said there is no space for malpractices in the department and the government will ensure zero tolerance against the menace of corruption at all levels. All necessary measures will be put in place to ensure complete transparency in the department and anybody found indulging in the corrupt practices shall be dealt with heavy hands, the Minister asserted.

He said the coalition government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed to weed out corruption from the society, particularly in the government departments and a well-knit mechanism will be devised to curb it, he added.
