JAMMU, Mar 31: The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of president Ashok Gupta took out a protest march in Old Jammu City demanding crack down on the illegal meat shops and slaughter houses which are not only a threat to the human health but also damaging the environment as the dead animal waste is left open in the drains leading to the spread of diseases which pose a great threat to the people living around.
Gupta stated that Jammu has an name and image of City of Temples and the pilgrims to Mata Vaishno Devi and for Swami Amarnath Ji are passing through here so it gives a bad impact if illegal meat shops are not closed here.
There are even mutton shops which are near to the religious places and educational institutes and these should be shut down as per the rules of the Section 313 under Article 2000 as there cannot be any shops near to theses places.
He further stated that these shops should not be allowed to run until they have the NOC and all the parameters should be followed as this is related to human health which cannot be compromised in any case and the environmental cause should also kept in mind.
