MENDHAR, Apr 1: The police nabbed two drug peddlers in Mendhar area of district Poonch today and recovered one kilogram of brown sugar from their possession.
A police spokesman said that jawans of Special Operation Group (SOG) Poonch, led by DSP, Salim Bhat under the supervision of SSP Poonch, Rajiv Pandey developed some information about the delivery of some drugs in Mendhar area and laid a naka near Sakhi Maidan on Poonch-Mendhar road.
The police party intercepted two youth and during their frisking, recovered one kilogram of brown sugar from their possession. The police arrested both the accused persons and registered a case against them. They were later identified as Masood Ahmed, son of Mohd Afsar Khan, resident of Sakhi Maidan and Javed Khan, son of Ghulam Ahmed, resident of Dabraj. The police has started investigation into the case.
