JAMMU, Apr 1: Turning tough to separatists for giving a bandh call tomorrow on the inauguration of state of art Chennai -Nashri tunnel by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister of State in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that separatists owed an explanation to people that whose interests they are serving by creating such a drama.
Talking to reporters here, today before leaving for Udhampur to take stock of arrangements of PM’s rally to be held there tomorrow, Dr Jitendra Singh said “the separatists should explain the people that whose interests they are projecting by giving the bandh call”.
Dr Jitendra Singh said this state of art tunnel will serve a bridge as J&K is going to become a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of New India and prove a game changer for the State. It is a matter of pride for entire nation and State of J&K that such a tunnel is being inaugurated in this part of the country and those opposing it have exposed themselves before the public.
The tunnel will make the travel easy, boost trade and help in doing ease of business as well as development of tourism, said Dr Jitendra Singh, adding those who are opposed to it are not people friendly and they are doing politics for their vested interests.
He said the Kashmiri separatist leaders who oppose the tunnel are exploiting and misguiding the common Kashmiri in general as well as youth and children in particular as they are against their interests. “These leaders have made the future of their children already secure by sending them to big cities of country and abroad for a job in private sector companies or managed the plum posts in Government for them”, he added.
The Union Minister said that the people should now give a befitting reply to separatists asking them to make their children stone pelters if they consider this a holy Jehad.
Dr Singh, while appealing the people to come in large numbers to participate in Prime Minister’s rally tomorrow asked them to give a big blow to separatists and send a message to them and bluff their boycott call.
He said by dedicating the tunnel to people is one of the great message by Prime Minister that despite his busy schedule he gives top priority to J&K State for its development and progress.
Asserting that separatists will be tackled effectively, the Union Minister said that there will be no lackness in the development of the State under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the role of Pakistan which is supporting the separatists movement and stone pelters through social media as stated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Dr Jitendra Singh said whenever such situation takes place in Kashmir, Pakistan starts propaganda through social media by instigating the innocent youth. “They send messages instigating people especially youngsters and appealing them to participate in stone pelting etc. This shows that Pakistan is following a strategy in organized and scientific manner and our Government will counter it in warfare and scientific way”, he added.
He said that both society and Government has to join hands to counter it as separatists supported by Pak are playing with the future of the children.
Dr Jitendra Singh said “regardless of our religion, region, caste, creed and colour we have to dedicate ourselves in the service of people keeping the public interest on priority”.
In the afternoon, Dr Singh chaired a high level meeting at Udhampur which besides authorities from SPG was attended by Divisional Commissioner , Dr Pawan Kotwal and other senior civil and police officers to review the arrangements.
He along with these officers visited the venue of Prime Minister’s rally to see the seating arrangements, stage and arrangements for media etc.
Later Dr Singh and officers also visited the tunnel to take the stock of arrangements there too. He said Prime Minister will stay about half an hour in the tunnel and he will also get down for a walk.
