JSW Steel posts record crude steel prod of 4.10 MT in Q4 FY17

MUMBAI, Apr 3:Steel major JSW Steel today said its crude steel production for Q4 FY17 stood at 4.10 million tonnes (MT), highest ever quarterly production with a growth of 28 per cent over Q4 FY16 and 6 per cent over Q3 FY 17.
The company’s flat rolled products also posted growth of 25 per cent at 2.98 MT and long rolled products by 7 per cent at 0.82 MT in Q4 FY 17.
During FY17, the company has recorded crude steel production of 15.8 million tonnes registering a growth of 26 per cent over previous year. The company achieved 100 per cent of production guidance of 15.75 MT, given at the beginning of FY 2016-17, a statement issued here said.
JSW Steel’s crude steel production increased by 15 per cent at 1.45 MT in the month of March 2017 as compared to 1.27 MT in the same period last year.
The production of flat rolled products grew by 16 per cent at 1.05 MT in March 2017 as against 0.90 MT in March 2016. However, long rolled products production declined by 4 per cent at 0.27 MT in March 2017 as compared to 0.28 MT in corresponding period last year, the release said.
