REASI, Apr 25: The patients were left to suffer after the Medical staff of Reasi district hospital went on strike today after an X-Ray technician was slapped by one of the attendants of a patient in the hospital last night.
Reports said the problem erupted after a relative of patient who had come from village Kansi Patta, allegedly abused and slapped young X-Ray technician Sachin Sharma during tiff. The matter was later reported to higher authorities in the hospital.
Today the entire staff went on strike in the morning, demanding arrest of the accused person. The patients kept waiting for the treatment and suffered the whole day. The Emergency service was however, allowed to function. The paramedical staff and even the doctors stayed away from the work.
The district administration, intervened only in the afternoon. The ACR approached the agitating staff and with his assurance the strike was called off. The Assistant Commissioner and Police assured that action under law wound be taken against the accused.
