I am disappointed by the attitude of some Indian women, who can be seen frequenting Durga temples and worshiping little Kanyaas these days. I wonder why their attitude changes when the same Kanyaa takes birth in their own household! Sadly, such women revere a relic from a local godman more than a girl child. At the height of hypocrisy, the same women who spend hours worshiping Durga in temples, ask their own daughter-in-law to abort the girl child. It is saddening to see that the same woman who wants a decent homely bride for her son does not want another woman to take birth in her family.
