SRINAGAR, Apr 4: Lambasting Congress leader Tariq Hamid Karra for terming present dispensation as communal, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Legislator from Zadibal Assembly Segment Abid Hussain Ansari today said that it was Karra who talked to BJP national general secretary and incharge J&K Ram Madhav on government formation in Jammu and Kashmir. “I don’t know who Ram Madhav is but Tariq Hamid Karra knows Madhav well. It was Karra who with regard to government formation in Jammu and Kashmir talked to Ram Madhav and completed all the formalities and modalities. It was Karra who persuaded reluctant Mehbooba to renew alliance with BJP. Where his conscience had gone then, when he held dozens of meeting with top brass of BJP to pave way for the PDP-BJP Government formation in the State,” Ansari told Excelsior on phone from Srinagar.
“For over two months after the death of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti maintained silence over government formation. It was Karra who played a key role and requested Mehbooba Mufti to go ahead with BJP. Was BJP then secular when he (Karra) held closed door meetings with the top leaders of BJP? How BJP became communal for him after his resignation,” Ansari questioned and revealed that it was again Tariq Hamid Karra who joined hands with BJP to nominate few PDP leaders as Rajya Sabha members and also guided the MLAs how to cast the vote for election of RS members.
Ansari also castigated Farooq Abdullah for terming PDP-BJP alliance as communal. “BJP for Farooq Abdullah was not untouchable and communal when he adjusted his son Omar Abdullah in Central Cabinet. Now BJP is untouchable because Abdullah’s are out of power, he added.
