Hakla appeals Govt to take effective steps for Gujjars welfare

JAMMU, Apr 4: Shamsher Hakla Poonchi, a prominent Gujjar leader and intellectual of the State today said that the Gujjar, Bakerwal community of J&K is educationally, socially, economically and politically backward and mostly resides in far-flung areas. The Gujjar leader also said that the needs and problems of Gujjar, Bakerwal community of J&K State are different from other communities of the State.
Hakla appealed the State Government to take the most appropriate and effective steps for the welfare and upliftment of Gujjar, Bakerwal community, so that their backwardness could be removed.
