2 drug peddlers nabbed with heroin, capsules

JAMMU, Apr 4: Two drug peddlers were arrested by police in Poonch and Rajouri districts today along with 500 gms of heroin and about 90 capsules of toxic nature.
Police sources said that a police party from SOG Poonch, led by DySP Mohd Saleem Bhat under the supervision of SSP Poonch, Rajiv Pandey, during naka on specific information in Gursai area of Mendhar today nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 500 gms of heroin from his possession.
The accused was identified as Shabab Ali Shah, son of Ali Asgar Shah, resident of Kangra Galuta in Mendhar. A case FIR No. 24/ 2017 under sections 8/21, 22 , 29 of NDPS Act was registered against him at Gursai Police Station.
Another police party nabbed one Amit Kumar, son of Krishan Lal , a shopkeeper from Bus Stand area of Mendhar town and recovered 40 poly punches of liquor from his possession this evening. He was booked under Excise Act.
Another drug peddler was arrested by Chingus Police during nakka at Kallar on Nowshera-Rajouri highway this afternoon. He was identified as Mohd Arif, son of Wayab Din, resident of Ward No. 10, Rajouri. 90 capsules of toxic nature were recovered from his possession. A case FIR No. 136/ 2017 was registered against him at Rajouri Police Station.
