Snowfall, rainfall and thunder showers lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours.
Keylong, headquarters of Lahaul Spiti, received 5 cm snowfall. Gate way to Lahaul Spiti district, Rohtang pass got fresh heavy snow disrupting the snow clearance operation launched by BRO.
High reaches of Lahaul Spiti like Kunzum pass, Baralacha Lady of Keylong, Seven sister’s hill and Goshal hill, Dhauladhar ranges of Kangra district and Shrikhand Kailash of Kinnaur also received fresh snowfall.
Tourist resort Manali and Saluni got 23 mm rainfall, Bhuntar 19. 6 mm, Chamba 15 mm and Kalpa in Kinnaur was 13.6 respectively. Dharmshala got 12.2 mm rainfall, Solan 8 mm Jubberhati of Shimla 7.2 mm, Shimla and Sundernagar of Mandi 5.5 degrees respectively. Two people were killed and four others injured when they were hit by lightening at Khadan village of Nankhari Tehsili of Shimla districts early morning.
The deceased were identified as 32-yr-old Tara Chand and 24-yr-old Gulshan Kumar. One Het Ram was rushed to IGMC Shimla reported serious.
Eight people, including two police officials, were injured in the mishap who were admitted at Khenari Zonal Hospital of Rampur.
SHO Sanjeev and ASI Hoshiyar Singh were carrying a patient to Hospital when the incident occurred.
Minimum temperature of Keylong was 1.8 degrees, Manali five degrees, Kalpa 3.6 degrees, Shilmla 9.5 degrees, Dharmshala 11.6 degrees, Bhuntar 12.3 degrees. Solan and Hamirpur 13.3 degrees each, Sundernagar 14.3 degrees, Una 18 degrees and Nahan in Sirmaur 20 degrees respectively.
The Met office forecast rain and thunder showers in many places of state in next 24 hours and rain or snowfall in many places of high reaches. (UNI)
