JKMEGA discusses issues of Mechanical Engineers

Excelsior Correspondent
SRINAGAR, Apr 5: A General Council meeting of J&K Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) was held here under the chairmanship of Er Rajnish Bal, I/C Chief Engineer, MED Kashmir,   and discussed various burning issues faced by the fraternity.
Er Firdous Ahmed Bhat, president MEGA, also expressed his views on the occasion about the efforts and initiatives taken by the Association for redressal of long pending issues of Mechanical fraternity. He lamented that nothing substantial on ground has been done by Government on issues  like implementation of assured career progression (Running grades), revival of Stores and Procurement Department (SPD), pay anomaly of JEs, enhancement in FTA for JE/AEE, restoration of deputation posts in JKPDC, JKPCC, JKCEMENTS etc  and creation of posts in Disaster Management, Health, Horticulture and Agriculture etc.
The meet also expressed despair that inspite of repeated requests, the post of Chief Engineer, MED Kashmir has been kept vacant from last three years and only a temporary arrangement has been made so far.
The meet requested the Government for quick redressal of the issues and not to compel the fraternity for taking other legitimate options like strikes and hanging of tool.
