JAMMU, Apr 5: The 34th meeting of the Governing Body of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal which was held here discussed several measures for expansion of infrastructure and reviewed quality monitoring parameters to provide patient care of highest standards at this tertiary care hospital.
Dr. S. S. Bloeria, Member of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Chairman of the Governing Body of the Hospital, chaired the meeting.
The Governing Body took a detailed review of the to-date status of the OPD and IPD patients treated, major surgeries performed and number of diagnostic tests conducted at this hospital in the past one year since commencement of services on April 8, 2016.
For meeting the emerging and future requirements of the hospital, the Governing Body held discussions on taking several immediate, short and long term measures for enlarging capacities by constructing additional infrastructure and increasing the number of consultants, paramedics and other required staff. The meeting deliberated the phased action plan prepared in this regard which will be placed before the forthcoming meeting of the Shrine Board for consideration later this month.
The Governing Body also reviewed the performance of the hospital on various quality parameters. The meeting emphasised the crucial importance of ensuring highest quality parameters vis-a-vis providing diagnostic and treatment facilities to the patients, adding that there should not be any laxity whatsoever as far as quality parameters are concerned.
It was also decided that the Superspeciality Hospital Kakryal will conduct in-house time motion study for continuously bringing about quality improvements in the functioning of the hospital and patient care. For the purpose, the best practices will be put in place besides, imparting training to the staff in soft skills.
The meeting was also informed that very soon the Superspeciality Hospital Kakryal will be applying for NABH accreditation.
B. B. Vyas, Financial Commissioner, Planning and Development, who is also Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Hospital and Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; both members of the Governing Body; Dr. M. K. Kumar, Additional CEO; Dr. (Brig) Man Mohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, SMVDNSH; and other concerned officers and engineers from the Shrine Board side participated in the meeting.
Those who took part in the Governing Body meeting deliberations on behalf of NVDSHPL/NH included Sunil Kumar CN, Zonal Director, NH; Dr. Suneet Marwah, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDNSH and Manu Ramachandar, Facility Director, SMVDNSH.
The Governing Body had a detailed discussion on the feedback and suggestions of the patients and their attendants and stressed that prompt action should be taken on each and every feedback as this would go a long way in continuously improving the delivery mechanism.
The meeting extensively reviewed the various events and programmes being organised this month as part of the annual day celebrations of the hospital.
