Encourage children to speak in mother tongue: Malik

KATRA, Oct 16: Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik has called upon the teachers and parents to encourage children to speak in their mother tongue as it would help in the conservation of their culture.
He also told the parents to be soft towards their children and do not put extra pressure on them with regard to their studies.
“Do not put much pressure on the child for carrying heavy bag of books. Child must be provided opportunity to enjoy his childhood”, Malik emphasised while addressing parents, staff and students at a function organised by Devs Kids World Kundorian, Katra to celebrate its Annual cum Parents Day at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Spiritual Growth Centre, Katra.
Minister congratulated the management of the School and staff member for preparing the students for better future. He further said that confidence shown by the students while performing different activities reveals that school was doing yeoman’s job for them as well as for the society.
The Management of the School also honoured some local persons for outstanding contribution in their respective fields. Those who were honoured included Shiv Kumar Sharma, R.S. Manhas, I.D. Soni, Harish Dubey, Ajay Gupta and Master Ishaq.
The Minister gave away the prizes to the winner of different events, besides management also presented mementos to the chief guest.
Student presented a colorful culture program beside a fancy dress competition was also organized on the occasion.
Ajay Singh Director of the host School in his welcome address read out the Annual Report and highlighted the students performances in academic, Scouts and Guides, Martial Arts, Symposium, Debate, Quiz, competition etc.
Principal, Sharda Devi presented vote of thanks on the occasion and Meenakshi Mahajan conducted the proceeding of the function.
