One killed, 5 injured as tipper rolls down

UDHAMPUR, Apr 6: One person died and five others were injured when a tipper rolled down in deep gorge near village Sulghar in Ghordi area of Udhampur district.
According to the reports, the tipper bearing registration number JK14E-1552, was on way from Ghordi to Udhampur when driver lost control over the vehicle resulting into the accident. The tipper fell around 100 feet deep in the gorge.
Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to PHC Ghordi where one of them was declared as brought dead. The deceased was identified as Thodu Ram (65), son of Paras Ram of Ghordi.
The injured were  identified as driver Vinod Singh (33),  son of Faqir  Singh of Tershi, Boodh Raj (55),  son of Makholi Ram of Ghordi, Gulzar Singh (17),  son of Ganderv Singh of Ghordi, Brij Mohan (13),  son of Julfi Ram of Ghordi and  Rahul (15),  son of Romesh Chander of Badola Udhampur. Ghordi.
Meanwhile, an octogenarian woman was found dead near Shudhmhadev road side under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased was identified as Ram Dai (80), wife of Romalu of Basti Chenani. According to Police, the woman was found lying on roadside and was taken to Sub District Hospital Chenani, where doctors declared her as brought dead. Apparent cause of death could not be ascertained immediately.
Police has registered the case in this connection for further investigation.
