MENDHAR, Apr 7: Several villages and hamlets of Mendhar Sub Division have plunged into darkness as at least 13 transformers have been damaged in last two days in the area.
Official sources said that at least 80 electric poles have also broken/ uprooted in the area due to rain and thunderstorm. The concerned authorities failed to replace the damaged transformers and restore power today. They said that it may take at least one week to restore the power supply.
The main villages where power and water supply has been badly affected are- Uchhad, Thera Tappa, Thamlote, Nadole, Mankote, Ari, Basuni, Balakote Forward and Behrote besides over two dozen hamlets in these areas. Water supply to Harni area has also been disrupted as a large water tank collapsed last evening after land slides and many PHE supply pipes were broken.
