World Health Day celebrated by various health institutions, others

JAMMU, Apr 7: Lectures, medical camps, skits and yoga sessions marked the World Health Day in various organizations and health institutions across Jammu.
A CME was organized today at ASCOMS and Hospital Jammu to commemorate the World Heath Day on the theme “Depression – Let’s Talk”. Director Principal, Dr Pavan Malhotra, was the chief guest. The CME was attended by the faculty and students of the institution. Various faculty members spoke on the occasion and enlightened the gathering about various forms of depression and non-pharmacological remedies to overcome depression. A health awareness camp was also organized by ASCOMS & Hospital at Bahu Plaza Complex Jammu.
On the occasion of World Health Day, SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, introduced Endocrinology services at their facility in Kakryal with the launch of Senior Citizen’s Diabetes Health Card by Dr Kalpana Dash, Consultant Endocrinologist from MMI Narayana Multispeciality Hospital, Raipur. She will be visiting SMVD Narayana Hospital every alternate month with follow-up care and treatment by a team led by Dr Sumit Saraswat at SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital.
In connection with World Health Day, a Lecture, panel discussion, skit and health exhibition was organized by 136 SHO and 166 MH for officers, troops and families at Dhanvanteri Auditorium 166 MH, today. Chief Guest of the event was Nandini Sharma, Chairperson, Family Welfare Organization of Tiger Division. Lecture delivered as part of IEC activity was based on current year theme “Depression: Let’s Talk”.
National Incredible Literacy Mission (NILM), Jammu organized a cleanliness drive cum awareness campaign on World Health Day at Amar Jyoti School, Marh, wherein a large number of students participated. Rakeshwar Singh, Project Director, NILM, gave a detailed lecture on ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and urged the students to clean their surroundings.
To commemorate the World Health Day, the Extension Unit of MIER College of Education (Atuonomous) organized a series of events namely free medical camp, an awareness lecture and a yoga session in collaboration with Ayush Medical Center (Indian System of Medicines) Samba at its adopted village-Bhatyari, near Bishnah. During the medical camp, 27 inhabitants were diagnosed with various ailments and free medicines were provided to the needy.
Unit Hospital, 66th Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal Jammu celebrated World Health Day by organizing an interactive session for the students of Sacred Heart College of Education, Lower Roopnagar, Jammu. The students were shown informative presentation by Mrinalini Singh, Assistant Commandant (Medical), 66th Battalion. She also brought to light the WHO theme for current year i.e, “Depression: Let’s Talk”.
APS Jammu Cantt celebrated World Health Day on 7 Apr 2017 with the theme “Depression”. The day begun with a Special Assembly in which students presented a skit on the ill effects of junk food. It was a proud moment for the school as Maj Gen Nilendra Kumar, ADG, NCC J&K Directorate paid a maiden visit and inspired the children to lead a disciplined life, become responsible citizens and help in Nation building.
