SRINAGAR, Apr 7:  In a meeting held in Ganderbal today, Chetan Sharma, contesting candidate for 2-Srinagar Lok Sabha Constituency in the by-polls alleged that the biased approach of the administration, particularly the Police made him and his party workers to face the worst kind of risk during campaign in the Constituency spread-over three large districts. Sharma is contesting elections on the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha Mandate and has undertaken tours in many areas including the far flung Lar in Ganderbal. There was hardly any security arrangement despite pre-hand information having been passed on to the Police Control Room, today and the contesting candidate was left at the mercy of God.
The party had since been requesting for providing some safe place for stay of the candidate and workers but it was only a week earlier that two rooms were allotted in a hotel in Rajbagh, that are lacking the basic living conditions.
Sharma said on April 3, 2017 a groups of stone pelters attacked the hotel in which the front mirror of his escort vehicle was broken. A case viz FIR No.6/2017 U/S 336 RPC stands registered in Police Station Rajbagh also, he added
He said during campaign, the Mahasabha has received overwhelming response from the Kashmiri youth and found in them a zeal to defeat the nefarious designs of the political parties who are claiming to be their well wishers. We shall be forming a political party jointly after these elections are over and our candidates shall be contesting elections in future with a strategy that the Kashmiri candidates will file nominations from Jammu and Jammu candidates from Kashmir, said Sharma. This will bridge the gap and a new Jammu and Kashmir will emerge.
