KATHUA, Apr 9: A youth committed suicide by hanging himself with a ceiling fan at his residence in village Sakthe Chak, 12 kms from here today.
According to police the body of the youth was seen by family hanging with a ceiling fan in his room this morning. He has been identified as Anil Sharma, 28, S/o Jia Lal of Sakthe Chak.
The youth an employee of Rural Development Department posted at Barnoti Kathua was to be married next month. The cause of this extreme step taken by him is not known. The Nagri Parole Police Post has registered a case under Section 174 RPC and started investigation. The dead body was handed over to family for last rites after postmortem at District Hospital Kathua today.
