36 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Apr 9: Chenani Police today foiled a major attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 36 animals besides arresting drivers of two trucks, in which the animals were being transported to Kashmir.
Based on reliable information, a team from Police Station Chenani laid a surprise naka near Chenani Domail on the National Highway and intercepted two trucks bearing registration number JK02AT-8215 and JK02AL-4306, which were on way towards Kashmir. During thorough search, the two trucks were found loaded with 36 bovine animals, which were rescued by Police.
Police arrested the drivers, namely Abid Hussian Shah, resident of Rathian Udhampur and Latief Mohd of Dansal Jammu.
A case FIR number 40/ 41/2017, under section 188 RPC, 3 PC Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Chenani.
