BMS to hold protest rally on Apr 17

JAMMU, Apr 11: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) will hold a strong protest rally on April 17 here at MA Stadium, Dogra Chowk in support its demands like hike in salary and implementation of 7th Pay Commission (PC).
This was announced today in a press conference addressed jointly by BMS units viz Anganwadi Workers’ Welfare Association (AWWA), different industrial workers’ unions, Bhawan Nirman Mazdoor Sangh, National State Government Employees’ Federation, All public sector unions and National Health Mission Employees’ Association (NHMEA).
Addressing the press conference, Subhash Verma, president, BMS, said that Government should fulfill the demands of the employees like minimum wages of Rs 15000 for Anganwari workers and Rs 1000 for helpers, payment of pending salary of 8 months, pension scheme under Provident Fund scheme, revision in minimum wages to Rs 350 per day for unskilled workers, abolishment of contract labour system, implementation of 7th PC, regularization of all daily wagers in all departments, etc.
He said if these demands are not fulfilled till April 16, a large protest rally will be organized by the BMS to press the Government to fulfill all these demands.
Others who addressed the press conference were senior BMS leader, Lakshman Ravinder Singh, Ashok Choudhary, general secretary, Rohit Seth, president, NHMEA and Neelam Sharma, general secretary, AWWA.
