JAMMU, Apr 17: President Indo-European Kashmir Forum, Krishana Bhan today said since the dawn of BJP regime in New Delhi and the dynamic role played by Prime Minister Narendra Modi entire world and UK in particular is looking at India with excitement and positivity.
Bhan who is on tour of India to interact and seek information about the situation in J&K particularly plight of displaced Kashmiri Pandits was talking to media persons here today along with BJP vice president Moti Kaul and Aryan Ramesh a social activist here.
She informed that IEKF and Hindu Council UK will commemorate the 70 years of signing of Instrument of Accession of J&K State with rest of India in the House of Commons on October 25 this year. Marcus Jones, MP and junior Minister of UK will be the key note speaker on the occasion, she added.
Bhan said recently a motion was passed in the British Parliament condemning Islamabad’s announcement of declaring Gilgit -Baltistan as its fifth Frontier. The Motion was sponsored by Conservative Party leader and MP Bob Blackmail. The motion made it categorically clear that Gilgit -Baltistan is a Constitutional part of J&K State which is illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947 where people are denied their fundamental rights including right to freedom of expression.
Talking about the plight of displaced Pandits she regretted that successive State Governments have totally ignored the unprecedented tragedy and inhuman conditions in which they have to live in the exile. She called upon the present Coalition Government to come out with a concrete blue print as how they intent to rehabilitate this beleaguered ethnic minority from the Valley. Bhan said that in the month of September or October she will again visit India with a high level delegation from UK Parliament to take the stock of the situation in the State and interact with the Indian leadership in the State and at Centre.
She expressed concern over the failure of the Government in taking concrete steps for the rehabilitation of migrants from Valley and alleged that those who were given jobs under PM package in Kashmir are facing many hardships due to inadequate accommodation, insanitation in their camps and problems of water and electricity.
Moti Kaul vice president BJP commended the role by the displaced Pandits and other organizations across the globe during last three decades by raising the issues concerning the community’s ethnic cleansing and tragic plight in exile at various forums.
He said the community also values the contribution of Bhan during last two decades in this regard.
He said BJP is committed to dignified and permanent settlement of displaced community.
Responding to a question Kaul acknowledged the unease within the community members, since not much has happened from the time the coalition Government was formed in the State.
He however expressed the confidence that BJP in the near future will unfold the blue print for the return and rehabilitation of the displaced members based on the collective aspirations.
In response to another question regarding unrest in the Valley, Kaul said Pakistan and their cronies in the Valley be given a befitting reply.
