This is a good news for industry in Jammu Division. Though there are numerous factors which have retarded the growth of industrial sector in this part of region, but non-availability of power round the clock is certainly one of them.
The industry people have complained time and again to the Government about power shortage and its effect on economy. In the past, the PDP failed to meet the rising demand. Now, when the Deputy Chief Minister who also happens to be the Power Minister has assured that Industrial Estates will get round the clock electricity supply for making Jammu a hub of industrial activities in the State, one feels that the industry may witness rapid growth.
It is quite important for industry to compete and grow, as it is second source of employment after Government. Since Government jobs have shrunk rapidly, it is necessary that industrial sector would rise to the occasion. The sooner it be, the better it would be for the State.
